Hi Everyone, how was your weekend ? As you can see from my previous post yesterday we were invited to come and review Col’Cacchios new menu in Stellenbosch 🙂 We chose a Sunday as its usually more chilled and you can take your time trying out different items on the menu. First of all for my international readers, Col Cacchio is an elegantly Italian pizzeria, that has re done their menu and added some amazing mains like steaks, chicken and many unique pizzas. Their menu is very easy to work with and ANYONE can eat there, they cater quite a bit for Vegans and I saw some of the food and it looked amazing! They also cater for banting and funny enough( I am not really a banting person ) but my 3 course meal I chose turned out to be banting lol and it was delicious 🙂

We opted for some refreshing cocktails with our starters, I chose the PIATTO DI FRESCO which was smoked salmon, ricotta, avo, cucumber ribbons, herbs, sesame seeds, citrus wedges and citrus dressing and Graham had the PIATTO DI SALUMI which was a platter of salami, olives, salame piccante, chorizo and prosciutto crudo.
I can HONESTLY say that PIATTO DI FRESCO was the most tasteful salmon salad I have ever had, all the ingredients worked perfectly together and yes Grahams starter was good too, I should know I had quite a few pieces hehe

Next up we opted for some drinks while we waited for the mains, I decided to try the COL’CACCHIO WOO WOO which was really tasty and how cute is the decoration? 😉

Four our mains I chose something really different , I felt like pasta so I decided to go with the ZUCCHETTI VERDE ROSSO which was zuchetti with chicken parmigiana and Graham tried some new half half pizza flavours . He decided on the NACHO LIBRE (Jerk spiced chicken, home made guacamole, tomato chilli slasa, coriander and sour cream) and the GREEN GENIE ( Roasted garlic, roasted butternut and beetroot, shitake mushroom, rocket, feta, balsamic glaze, pumpkin and sesame seeds , sunflower seeds, avo and italian parmesan )

I have never had Zuchetti before so I decided to try it out and I really enjoyed it and I had some of Grahams pizza choices and wow, what a combination, we loved it !

We opted for wine with our meal, I tried the Waterford Sauvignon Blanc and Graham had the Tokara chardonnay which went really well.

Last but not least we finished off with dessert, I chose Italian Kisses and Graham chose Tiramisu, the Italian kisses were the best way to end off the meal, we were quite full by the end, but it was worth it 😉

All in all we had a fantastic time at Col’Cacchio in Stellenbosch, the new menu is seriously good and they have so many options you have to try! Special thanks to the manager and our amazing waitress though who made it extra special, who took some of our pictures and were super helpful 🙂
