During the seminar we learnt all about the new FORD FOCUS and its fabulous features, it was so nice to see so many familiar JHB faces such as Danine Naidoo, Nicole Flint, Tamarin Jardine, Jay Anstey to name but a few…
After the seminar we were taken to the official launch party which was held on a boat called the JESTER, we had canapes and drinks upstairs then settled downstairs for a buffet dinner. After the festivities we danced the night away to DJ Milkshake .
The next morning we woke for breakfast and were taken down to see the new FORD FOCUS and choose one to drive around P.E, my driving partner for the day was Jade and in the car we were given instructions where to go. It was a awesome drive all around P.E while we made our way to the mid way destination which was the Padlangs Country and Restuarant and Shop for lunch. We had their famous burgers and chips which was really good and after chilling for a bit we made our way back to the airport just in time for our flight back to Cape Town.
After test driving all the FORD cars for more than 3 years I know by now which ones are my favourite and the FORD Focus and Fiesta are the ones I love to drive. The KUGA also has a special place in my heart though because of the park assist and guess what now the new FORD Focus has that too! I am the first one to admit I may be a good driver but I hate parrallel parking and will avoid it any cost even if it means finding a parking place a block away or getting my friends, usually Nambitha ( bless her soul ) to park it for me as she is the queen of parallel parking . Thanks to FORD I don’t have to worry about that and if you are like me then, parking is a dream with this car.
Its such a fun car to drive, very powerful as I found going through the bends on the road but like any FORD it makes you feel very safe too. Its quieter than most Fords, but looks just as hot as ever and bluetooth SYNC is now standard, how awesome is that? Ford is also now introducing a few new specs, distance Indication, which enables drivers to set a preferred distance they would like to maintain with the vehicle ahead. Should the driver get any closer, the system issues a three-stage dashboard display warning – from grey to yellow to red. The new Focus will also be equipped for the first time with Ford’s MyKey technology. MyKey enables owners to programme a key – usually for younger drivers – that restricts the top speed, reduces the maximum volume of the audio system, and can disable it altogether if driver and passengers are not using safety belts. The system can prevent the driver from deactivating safety technologies. I think Jim Baumbick, Ford’s global C-car vehicle line director said it perfectly “The new Focus offers a host of new and cutting-edge features and technologies, but at the same time this latest version has been refined and simplified,” said . “The sophisticated redesign has given Focus a new, fresh and modern style both inside and out, but the soul of Focus is the fun-to-drive feeling you get when you’re behind the wheel, and we’ve not compromised on that – in fact, we’ve improved it.” I certainly agree with Jim, so thank you FORD for another amazing launch, I look forward to the next one and working with you guys again this year…watch this space for my FORD car reviews 🙂 Posted By Jasna of Fashionjazz
