Fashion events are an incredible experience and a must for those passionate about clothes. The main spectacular events are overseas so ensure you leave time to do some serious sightseeing.
If you are a true follower of fashion then you want to ensure that you visit New York during Fashion Week. The oldest ‘Fashion Week’ in history, it has been operating since 1943, this week long event takes place twice a year and attracts designers such as J Crew, Calvin Klein, and the beautiful collections from Nicole Miller.
If you want to get a sneak preview of what the show may be like, treat yourself to a showing of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ before hopping on a plane.
If you can’t make New York, you may want to sample Fashion Week in Milan, Paris or London where you will experience a more European influence.
So what to take…
Travelling abroad?
Cover your clothing
As with all trips, before you go, call your insurance company and ensure you have adequate travel insurance. If you are planning on splurging out on new fashion must haves, ensure you have cover for carrying everything home. In the horrendous event that your luggage ends up somewhere different to you, make sure your insurance covers your spend, that way you can hit the shops a second time.
Prepare your body
The audience at Fashion Week is amok with designers, editors, and bloggers. It is an audience of beauty, so ensure you have exfoliated, scrubbed, highlighted and come prepared to stand amongst splendour. Fashion Week is glitzy, full of glamour and fabulously over the top.
A bag for all occasions
Forget the clutch at Fashion Week, the days are long and tiring and a stunning bag (my recommendation is anything by Hermes) can hide all that you need to survive the day. Make-up to ensure you stay looking good the day long. Plasters for blisters from those killer heels will insure against agony later on in the day.
Of course you can’t forget a camera and mobile device to share your thoughts on social media. Possibly even some painkillers to take if the going really does get tough! Lights, cameras, and music can all add up to a banging head at Fashion Week.
Prepare to be dazzled
Fashion Week is outstanding, and a great place for fashion bloggers to learn more, see new trends, and get ahead of next season. Make sure you pack your sense of fun and adventure next to your passport and insurance documents and you will be sure to have a fabulous time!
