THE BEST LUNCH VIEW BY THE SEA, A CUCINA LABIA REVIEW

Hello my lovelies, how are you ? HUGE thank you to everyone who notified me that my site was hacked last week, it was quite a big scare… I was actually busy drafting up this post review, I was basically done I just needed to add some links and edit a few things. But because it was Valentines Day and I was running late to get ready, I decided to work on the post the next day  and switched off my laptop. Unknown to me though some one had already injected a malicious code into my index php file resulting in my site completely going offline and I could not log in to fix it. Luckily Hetzner whome I host with resolved the problem and now after  2 days I am back online 🙂

I had to disable a few plugins which resulted in losing all my comments from this post, so if you dont see your comment then you know why, I also landed up changing my theme a bit, what do you guys think ?

Anyway to get back to the post, recently  Cucina Labia at Casa Labia invited us to try out their lunch menu with a sea view, Cucina Labia is the restuarant situated inside Casa Labia in Muizenberg Cape Town and I had heard so many great reviews so I was quite excited to try it out.

We decided to go on a Saturday and make it a mini lunch date seeing as though we had not done anything like that since moving in together in December.

Looking at the menu there was quite a lot of unique dishes for a 3 course meal and when I heard it was being paired with False Bay wines I knew it was going to be a winner.

I decided to try a different starter for a change so I went for the WILD MUSHROOM, ARANCINI, GRUYERE, GUINESS, ONION PETALS , PICKLED MUSHROOMS AND PORCINI POWDER. It was surprisingly delicious, it was completely out of my comfort zone but wow was it good!

Graham went for PISTACHIO PEPPER BRAAIED TUNA, GRAPEFRUIT, ARTICHOKE, CAPONATA AND WATERCRESS  , it looked so fresh and it tasted even better,we love sharing our food together so I am really glad I got to try some 😉

The decor is so pretty, you feel like you are having lunch in palace…

Next up was the mains, I had the FISH OF THE DAY , MALAY SEAFOOD CRUST, SNOEK, APRICOT, PINE NUT, SWEET POTATO AND MANGO TROUT. It looks like a small portion, but it really isnt, its was so delicious and filling, my mouth is actually watering as I write this lol

Graham had the ITALIAN MEATBALL BURGER, MATURED CHEDDAR, SHAKSHUKA, ROCKET, BRIOCHE, PARMESAN FRIES AND TRUFFLED AIOLI. This meatball burger is a favourites amongst the regulars and I can see why, its so tasty! Those parmesan fries were the best I have ever had.

For dessert I opted for the AFFOGATO WHICH IS AMARULA CHOCOLATE AND VANILLA ICE CREAM SPHERE, ESPRESSO AND HAZELNUT BISCOTTI. It was the perfect dessert to finish off such a fabulous meal, it was light and it was ice cream and coffee lol which I crave all the time 😉

Graham had the DECONSTRUCTED TIRAMISU, AMARETTI, ESPRESSO, CHOCOLATE AND SABAYON, it looks rich but it wasnt, it was just as tasty as my dessert.

After lunch we took a stroll through the restaurant, how stunning are these sea views ? This place is beautiful, its the kind of restaurant you can spend leisurely having a meal, enjoying the live piano music, the ambience, the fantastic service and most importantly really good food.

Thank you to Cucina Labia for the warm hospitality and a very special lunch date, we are looking forward to coming back and trying out some more dishes, follow Cucina Labia on FACEBOOK, TWITTER AND INSTAGRAM

Lastly lets talk about this wide sleeve off shoulder top from ZAFUL, its seriously comfortable and if I could I would wear it every day 😉

Have a awesome Monday my lovelies:) xx
