Recently I was invited to a fabulous evening of fine dining and wine pairing at Cafe Chic in Cape Town. The meal consisted of a 7 course canape dinner paired with different wines.
OYSTER,PEAR,RADISH,CUCUMBER,SOY,CORIANDER paired with GRAHAM BECK BRUT ROSE
I am a huge fan of oysters, I usually have it with Tabasco, but this was delicious, I didn’t need anything extra thanks to the radish, what a great combination and it went so well with the Graham Beck. PEA, CAPPUCINO,CAPE LOBSTER,SWEET PIMENTO paired with CREATION SAUVIGNON BLANC What can I say I really loved this combination together and the sauvignon blanc brought out the cape lobster taste perfectly. KINGLIP,BETROOT,SWEETCORN,PARMESAN GNOCCHI paired with WARICK ESTATE WHIE LADY Huge fan of kingklip and it goes surprisingly well with beetroot and the Warick Estate White Lady whuch brings out all the flavours. BRAISED DUCK PUY LENTILS BUTTERNIT FRIED QUAILS EGGS paired with HAMILTON RUSSEL VINEYARDS PINOT NOIR I admit I did not eat the duck because I dont eat duck after having had 2 as pets when I was younger, but according to everyone it was amazing! One of my favourite wines is Hamilton Russel Vineyards especially their Pinot Noir, which went well with the quail eggs and butternut. BEEF FILLET CREAMED WATERCRESS MUSHROOM RAVIOLI TRUFFLE HOLLANDAISE paired with KLEIN CONSTANTIA MARBROOK
