Last week I attended the launch of the private sale club, BrandHunter.co.za. Labeled as “SA’s most closely guarded secret” the site offers members premium brands at discount prices.
Fashion, accessories, gadgets and electronics are sold via flash-sales. A simple, exciting and personal shopping experience!
We were treated to champers and canapes while getting the opportunity to shop, which is the perfect way to spend an evening 🙂
Only 5000 members will have access to these offers. After that limit is reached, people will go on a waiting list. Customers who sign up this December will get a free membership and the opportunity to earn up to R80 per referred friend.
Brandhunter is not a classical retailer but rather a premium online outlet. The savings that come from not having a warehouse or a classical purchasing team are passed right on to their members. Brand sales are on only for three to six days with limited stock – it is first come first serve.
Brandhunter managed to sign-up all major electronics brands and many premium fashion brands. This week’s first flash sales, which started on Wednesday morning, are Paul’s Boutique, Dell and Puma. Once subscribed you will be notified what brands will come on so you can be ready to grab your favorite item. By putting a product in your cart you can reserve it – but only for 15 minutes, after which it will be available again for other members.
The brains behind Brandhunter are co-founders Eugen Petersen (Marketing Director) and Caroline Nixon (Merchandise Director). Both are seen as experts in the online shopping industry. Caroline, after having worked 22 years for the Edcon Group and MIH/Kalahari.com, founded Nixon Trading Agencies and Nixon Consulting. She is also a well-known conference speaker on the topics of e-commerce and mobile. Eugen, on the other hand, co-founded successful online fashion store, Zando, which launched in South Africa earlier this year.
Brandhunter offers secure delivery via courier to the member’s door at a flat rate of R35.00 – a competitive rate in the online shopping industry. Customers can pay via credit card or EFT.
