You can get that spa feeling without heading to the spa! Here are tricks for glowing skin, a mood boost and some pampering, right in the comfort of your bathroom. 1. Bring the Spa to You Little touches in your surroundings can make you feel relaxed and pampered. They’re an important part of feeling like you’re at a gorgeous spa. So, enjoy things that appeal to your senses and boost your mood, such as wearing a fluffy bathrobe or spraying your favorite scent. 2. Smell the Roses! Make your bathtime feel luxurious by placing rose petals in your water. Or, you could make your own rosewater easily. Simply pour boiling water over a cup of rose petals and let it steep until cool. 3. Make Showers Pampering If you prefer showering to having a bath, you can still make it ooze TLC. Let the water run for about 20 minutes so that it steams up the room. Then, spritz a lovely oil onto a washcloth (such a vanilla or rose) before taking a breath of it when you step into the steamy shower. This is calming while also makes you feel good. The bonus is that it can clear up your nasal passages if you have a cold or sinusitis. 4. Smooth Your Wrinkles One of the most popular treatments to get at the spa is a facial. You can make your own with ingredients that are currently in your kitchen! A recipe that will smooth your wrinkles is a must to try. All you need is 1/4 cup of kaolin clay, 1/4 cup of red wine, 1 tablespoon of organic oat flour, and 2 tablespoons of grapeseed oil. Mix the ingredients well and then apply the blend to your face and neck. Sit with it for about 10 minutes before gently rinsing off. The red wine contains resveratrol which heals sun damage while clay is great for getting rid of toxins. 5. Brighten Up! Use this recipe if you want glowing skin. You’ll need 2 teaspoons of lime juice, 1 egg white and 1/2 cup of beer. Mix the ingredients well and then leave the mixture on your face for 10 minutes before rinsing. The beer cleanses your skin while the egg white improves skin firmness. Vitamin C that’s found in the lime can help tackle discoloration, but you can switch the lime with other Vitamin-C rich juice, such as fresh orange juice, if you like. 6. Treat Your Skin Spend some time massaging your skin when applying DIY face masks. This is great to boost your circulation and increase your body’s defence against infection and disease! 7. Get Longer-Lasting Manis Make the tips of your nails chip-proof by painting two layers of a base coat. Make sure the first one is applied to the top half of your nails while the second is applied all over. 8. Set in the Saturation If you are wearing a bright color on your nails, you can make it even more luminous by first painting your nails with a white base coat. 9. Ice Your Nails Forget using a blow-dryer on your nails after you’ve painted them as this can cause smudges or bubbles. Rather dip your nails into a bowl of iced water. Leave your nails in there for a few minutes for faster-drying time! 10. Lather on the Body Butter You can make your own luxurious body butter that’s the perfect way to end your spa day. With ingredients such as almond oil, shea butter and coconut oil, it’s an easy way to smooth your skin while feeling on top of the world. Make it before you start your spa day so that it’s available when you need it without any fuss. With simple hacks, you can enjoy a rejuvenating spa day at home. Just remember to place a ‘do not disturb’ sign on your bathroom door so you don’t get interrupted!
