Recently , pro surfer Matt Bromley hosted the private screenings of The Plastic Age at G-Star stores in Johannesburg and Cape Town coinciding with the launch of the latest RAW for the Oceans collection feat Pharrel Williams. I missed the launch, but after seeing the documentary I had to share it, I think what Pharrel has done is so amazing and such a good idea and we can support by buying at least one or 2 pieces of his collection….
“The ocean yields so much life, including our own. We owe it.” – Pharrell Williams in The Plastic Age
Additionally, surfboard shaper Dave van Ginkel of DVG Shapes created two denim surfboards to be given away in support of the cause. Those who purchase from the RAW for the Oceans collection at a value of R3000 or more before 31st May will be in for a chance to win!
Directed by Jake Sumner and featuring Pharrell Williams, The Plastic Age reveals the extensity of plastic waste in our oceans. Shedding light on positive solutions, the documentary reveals the remarkable lengths scientists, activists and fashion labels are going to, to secure our oceans for future generations.
