Ford cars always have amazing features and the new Ford Kuga is no exception. I attended the launch which I posted HERE but click below to see why the new Ford Kuga was voted the safest smallest off-road 4×4 around….
When I test drove the Kuga the first thing that came to mind was how easy this car was to drive and use. There are so many useful features like the hands free tailgate which opens (and closes) with a wave of your foot under the bumper and it even adjusts to the height of your garage. See HERE
The SYNC technology which has become synonymous with Ford is so useful to answer incoming calls, read out your texts, call family and friends just by saying their names and listen to music with a USB.
My all time favourite feature is the active park assist, First it helps you find a parking spot that’s just the right fit. Then it virtually parallel parks itself. Put the car into gear, take your hands off the wheel and watch it perfectly steer into a parking spot, all you have to do is work the accelerator and brake.
Seen HERE
Another feature I love, you don’t need to actually have your key in your hand to start your Kuga, or unlock it, for that matter. As long as you have your key fob with you, your car will unlock and once you’re in the driver’s seat, you still don’t need to use the key, simply put your foot on the brake pedal, press the start button and go.
Every 16 milliseconds the Kuga adjusts which wheels get torque, so your cornering and traction are always at an optimum no matter what the weather. The Kuga adapts the cruise control to suite the traffic and detects if the car has unexpectedly stopped and automatically applies the brakes.
The indicator lights in the side mirrors let you know when there’s a vehicle in your blind spot when changing lanes, so you can see what you can’t see and if you drift into the next lane your steering wheel will vibrate to alert you and steering torque will automatically direct your Kuga back into your lane.
I drove the Kuga on the dirt road when it was wet and rainy and I felt perfectly safe thanks to Torque technology which is automatically transferred to the wheels that have the most grip, so the front end hugs the inside of every bend, under-steering is virtually eliminated.
The hill Launch Assist holds the brake for up to 3 seconds after you take your foot off, giving you time to smoothly accelerate away, whether you’re facing uphill or down.
All in all the new Ford Kuga is one hot ,safe and reliable 4X4 and after you have used the active park assist, no car will feel the same.
