SHIMMY LAUNCHES THEIR NEW WINTER MENU

Hello my lovelies, how has this week been treating you so far ? Its been a good week my side, very productive working hard at some new campaigns and most importantly all the hard work I have put into my blog and brand for many years is finally coming together, so watch this space 😉

If you followed along on my instastories last week you would have seen that I attended the Shimmy winter menu launch last week Friday, I attended their summer one last year which was so good so I knew the winter one was going to be just as delicious 😉

We started off with some champagne from Bloemendal and some dim sum which were the perfect appetizers for the lunch.

Next we moved onto starters which was paired perfectly with Bloemendal wines 😉

STARTERS

Venison and Leak Ragout

Potato Gnocchi

Ratatouille Tart

Both starters were very tasty, but the potato Gnocchi was hands down my favourite of the starters, it was so creamy thanks to the truffled cauliflower puree, I could have had an entire bowl full.

 

Fresh Local Black Mussels– These were so good, I had quite a few hehe 😉

MAINS

Red Lentil Vegetarian Burger

Biltong Encrusted Ostrich Fillet

Chicken and Mushroom Pot Pie

Barbeque Pulled Pork Belly Burger

I actually loved all of these, each had their own unique flavour , I especially loved the red lentil burger and the chicken mushroom pot pie as the lentil burger was so tasty and the pot pie, well it was beyond delicious 🙂

DESSERTS

Baked Pear Pudding

Chocolate Fondant Spring Roll

Pecan Nut, Apricot Bread and Butter Toasted Sandwhich

Chai and Matcha Creme Brulee

I am sure you guys all know by now I am not the biggest dessert fan, however I know the Shimmy desserts are always good so I make an exception which is always worth it. The Chai and Matcha Creme Brulee, I cant describe it, it was definitely one of the best desserts I have EVER had, in fact I wish I could have this kind of dessert every night.

All in all it was another fabulous friday at Shimmy and even though its winter we were lucky to have such a sunny day, filled with good food, good wine and fabulous company proving yet again that Shimmy is the place to be this season 😉
