Recently I got the chance to try out so of the meals from the delicious menu from Phizantekraal, I have only been there once for a wine tasting but after seeing their menu I knew I had to try out their food.
We decided to have a wine farm family lunch, starting off with a bottle of their sauvignon blanc and for lunch their chicken ceaser salad and a farm house sandwhich. Their menus change every week which is nice because then there is a lot of variety for ever meal.
The Chicken Ceaser salad was so good, very filling, the portions are really big and so tasty and the Farm House Sandwhich was just as tasty. I am not a fan of pork belly but after trying this sandwhich, I am hooked, we paired the dishes with their Sauvignon blanc went really well and in between we tried the chenin blanc which also paired really well. Phizantekraal have 5 wines in total, the Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and the Anna de Koning wooded Chanin Blanc, all 5 have their own unique taste and are really smooth easy drinking wines.
They are tucked away in the Durbanville Valley, with stunning scenic views you feel like you are in a totally different place, the vibe is tranquil and is the perfect place to have a quiet breakfast or lunch and relax.
