Wednesday night I attended the Alzheimers Memorial Challenge fundraiser, which was to raise funds for the Alzheimers Run (13th-22nd September 2013). Its a non stop run from Pretoria to Cape Town in a bid to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s disease.
Chad Meihuizen who is an ambassador for Alzheimer’s SA lost his father from Alzheimers which motivated him to help raise awareness and to do this challenge(you can read his full heart felt story HERE) He is part of a group of 5 runners who started today and will run relay style NON STOP ( never been done before) over 1 800km starting in Pretoria and ending up in Cape Town where they will finish their challenge by running the Cape Town Marathon.
The Fundraiser which was held at Club31 was a huge success, raising
R75 000 by auctioning off items and everyone attending and supporting.
