36 Boutiques
I decided this year that I was going to change my shopping strategy a bit, I realised after going through my closet room that I have soo many clothes I wear but there are a lot that I get bored off and then do not land up wearing again.
Hence I land up with too much stuff, not enough days to wear everything and my really neat and organised closet room lands up looking a complete mess in 5 seconds!
I decided I would have to go back to my old strategy of shopping:
Vintage is best and quality versus quantity!
So when I heard about the 36 Boutiques I was beyond happy! I support any boutique where you can buy luxury items and you dont run the risk of running into some one who has the same dress or top as you. The designers they have are amazing, so of course thats where quality versus quantity comes into play. It is supposed to be a secret boutique but of course I am going to share the news with all of you, the only thing is that its for South African readers only, sorry to all my Fashionistas overseas : (
To all the SA Fashionistas you can sign up here for their next sale on Monday!
I missed their first sale, but I had the privilege of interviewing the fabulous Nicky Boy who started the boutique, so everyone can read what 36 Boutiques is all about and why you have to sign up, I have : )
1. How did you come up with the idea of 36 boutiques?
We believe there is a gap in the market for a great online clothing offer in South Africa. So we chose to use the private event retailing model. It has gained a huge following worldwide and complements and supports local designers and retailers.
2. What makes 36 boutiques stand out from other online boutiques?
We believe that the offer to customers is unique – the world class experience, hand-selected luxury fashion items, deep relationships with our brand partners and a passion for the local fashion industry. We also encourage similar offers in South Africa, as the more ecommerce grows, the better we all do.
3. Which designer labels do you stock?
We have approached selected designers and they’ve all been very receptive. We’ve chosen some of the most exclusive brands and we’ve signed up very key and significant brand partners such as Stefania Morland, Ben Sherman(12 April), Hermanna Rush, Jingle&Chimes(19 April), 7 for All Mankind(10 May), Cossabella (17 May) and Melissa(24 May).
4. So for all my South African readers, how does 36 Boutiques work and how can they be part of it?
36boutiques is an online designer boutique sale platform. South Africans can go sign up at www.36boutiques.com <http://www.36boutiques.com> and within 24hours they will be accepted as an exclusive member. Customers will then be emailed before the beginning of a sale event, to announce which retail store or designer will be on sale that week.
The sale will start at noon on a Monday and customers will have 36-48 hours to buy luxury items, after which the sale is closed and items are packed for free delivery to customers(free delivery for purchases over R1000, otherwise a R50 charge applies). A purchase is normally delivered within a couple of days and thereafter the customer has 7 days to return the item if they are not satisfied. It is important to remember that membership is free but by invitation only. 36boutiques members can earn R50 credit when friends that they introduce to the concept make their first purchase in 36boutiques.com.
We believe that our offering is so compelling that customers will naturally invite their friends to share their designer shopping secret, but we feel that it is important to reward people for introducing us into their social circles
A special thank you to Tarryn for providing the pictures.
