Hello my fellow Fashionistas!

I have missed everyone so much, thank you for all your lovely comments I  had no idea it has been more than a week since my last post : (

This past week has been unbelievably busy, I was part of the fashion show below on Monday and I attended 2 fashion events on Wednesday and Thursday. I plan to catch up on all your lovely blogs on the weekend where I intend to just relax and catch up on life  : ) Anyway, back to my post….

On Monday I participated in the Breadline Africa Fashion show, I modeled in the show,  it was lots of fun all in the name of charity.

Mike took soo many pictures that I could only load a few on my this post and the rest of them are on the gallery under different categories.

We all wore clothing that was sponsored by Puma, Cigar and Billabong, eNetworks did the sound and we all enjoyed delicious snacks from Café Max.

I loved both my outfits that I modeled from Cigar (first pic) and Billabong (2nd pic) and all the other models looked fabulous!

Before the fashion show the audience were entertained by the fabulous CODA, I met Zami( not in the picture) from CODA( below) in the bathroom while getting changed and she was lovely to chat too. : )

Fashion News

May 1st, 2010

I would like to introduce a new addition to my blog called Fashion News, Every now and then I will be posting all the current SA fashion news. I bought the Marie Clare Magazine over the weekend and I loved every single page!

Marie Claire shoots SA’s big three

Three of South Africa’s top international models gracing one cover for the
first time ever

The May 2010 issue of Marie Claire, South Africa’s leading fashion and beauty magazine, celebrates Mother’s Day with three young gorgeous ladies who are enjoying worldwide success in their modelling careers. Marie Claire editor, Aspasia Karras, joined Candice Swanepoel, Heidi Verster and Behati Prinsloo in New York City to shoot this month’s cover story – a cover all three girls are gracing.

“This month’s issue is the very definition of South African beauty and
grace,” says Karras about her second issue as newly appointed Marie Claire
editor. “The girls are beautiful; their well-mannered and down-to-earth
natures shine through in this month’s shoot – something every South African
mom can be proud of.”

The gorgeous trio prove to be much more than just beautiful faces – they’ve worked incredibly hard to get where they are and now boast top brands such as Victoria’s Secret, Dolce & Gabbana and Vogue on their modelling CVs. In their exclusive interview with Karras they share relationship stories, future dreams, advice for young aspiring models and, most of all, their utmost respect and love for the women who helped them achieve such success: their mothers.

The girls showcase their talent in a crisp, cool New York winter shoot, modelling Black Coffee and Loin Cloth & Ashes’ newest designs from the Arise African Fashion Collective show at New York Fashion Week in the newest issue of Marie Claire. The shoot was produced by Juanita Daniel, producer of the Arise show, and photographs were taken by Swedish photographer, Daniella Midenge. The 10-page shoot surely defines why the girls are making their presence felt in the international fashion industry.

The May 2010 issue of Marie Claire should not be missed and is now available at all leading retailers.

I have been on the look out for polka dot and heart shape stockings since I first saw them last year, so when I found  them both I was thrilled!

I wore the heart shaped ones recently when we went to Casa for cocktails with Nelani and Tiaan, the lighting was really bad so I could take alot of pictures like I normally do, but it was lots of fun!

I am so in love with my faux fur collor, that it has inspired me to do a DIY, speaking of DIYS, I have just finished my first one which I will post soon : )

A big thank you to the fabulous Amy from Midtown girl for featuring me in her Heart This  Blogger post !

I was really honored when she asked to do a feature on me as I am usually the one doing features for my column : )

Cosmopolitan  SA Magazine asked everyone on twitter whose blogs are a must read and my blog is among the list, thank you to everyone!

And a thank you to Marie Claire magazine for posting my tweet on their blog!

So how has the week been treating everyone?

I am ok, been pretty sick but I am much better now and ready to get back into action : )

Recently I went to the Rarely Worn Sale in Bree Street with Taz and Steph.

Taz looking all the fabulous garments

I fell in love with Stephs bag!

It was lots of fun and there was quite a selection to choose from. I literally ran to the one clothing rack when Steph spotted the white and brown faux fur collor, she knew it was excatly what I was looking for.

Then thanks to the wonderful ladies who organised the rarely worn sale they showed me the purple collor which is I had to have and is now my absoloute favorite!

I bumped into fashionsta and blogger Ulanda Chan unfortunately I never got a chance to take some pics with her but no worries as there is always  the next fashion event  : )

Look at all these shoes!

We had a ball shopping, drinking champagne and eating macaroons. It was the first time I had them and I am officially in love with Macaroons!!

I am now on the look out for them all the time : )

Steph and I

Taz and I

These are original Vivienne Westwood sheos!!

I didn’t get a chance to take detailed outfit pics, but I was wearing my vintage denim shirt, circle scarf, faux leopard print coat, black skinnies, beige open toe boots and my studded faux leather gloves

I left with the 2 faux fur collors and my bag that was in my previous post.

The best thing about the Rarely Worn Sale is the organisers Sjaniel & Chloe donated as much of the unsold clothing and proceeds to Sisters Incorporated whose mission is to rehabilitate and equip pregnant teens and abused woman and children with life skills to better their situations.

Watch this space- all the Cape Town Fashionistas have to come to the next one!

I cannot wait  : )

xx
